Thursday 5 July marked the 70th birthday of the NHS, and Haringey CCG celebrated the special occasion with both staff and local residents during the week.
We paid tribute to the NHS with a tea party and a birthday cake with our lay member and patient representatives at our Engagement Network on Tuesday 3 July. We also took residents on a trip down memory lane with a display documenting the changes in the local hospitals (Whittington, St Ann’s and North Middlesex) serving Haringey over the years.
Staff enjoyed stories from the past too, and got a taste of 1948 through a selection of sweet and savoury treats from that era (kindly made by colleagues), during an interactive session highlighting the NHS’ pioneering achievements over the last 70 years.
Dr Peter Christian, Haringey CCG’s Chair said: Having worked in the borough for 33 years as a GP I am immensely proud of our NHS and the staff who work so hard for the residents we serve.”
