Support organisations in Haringey

On this page you will find links to some databases of voluntary sector groups and organisations that could support patients and their families and carers. We have been told by people who live in Haringey and some of our GPs that this information would be helpful. We hope you find these sites or services useful, however, Haringey CCG cannot be held responsible for any information found on or through them.

HAricare - Haringey Directory of Services for Adults

This is where you can find services, support and activities in Haringey and other forms of advice and information for users of adult social care services, their families and carers. HAricare is found on the Haringey Council website.

Services for children, young people and families in Haringey

Haringey Council hosts a Children, Young People and Families directory. This directory details the organisations and services available locally, which will help you plan care for you or your loved ones.

Mental health and wellbeing

  • HAIL Ltd - provides professional care and support to people with learning and physical disabilities, mental health issues and autism in London.
  • Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) – provides free telephone, face to face or online support for people with anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions.
  • MIND in Haringey - provides information, advice and support to anyone who is affected by mental health problems.
  • Nafsiyat - provides psychotherapy for patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Young Minds – mental health support for young people and includes a glossary of terms often used in mental health services.
  • Open Door - mental health support for young people aged 12-24. Young people can call or email for more information or to get an appointment.
  • Maytree - a sanctuary for the suicidal.

Sexual health

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) health and wellbeing

  • WiseThoughts/Gaywise - deliver LBGT projects and services related to health, wellbeing and the arts. This includes drop-in services for LBGT people.
  • Mermaids UK (national charity) -  offers support to children and teens exploring their gender identity (and their parents/carers)
