Each year the invaluable role that nurses play in keeping people around the world, as healthy and independent as possible is recognised on International Nurses’ Day. International Nurses' Day is held annually on 12 May, coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale - a pioneering nursing leader and inspiration to many in this field including Haringey CCG’s very own Pauline Fletcher.
Pauline Fletcher, the CCG’s Designated Nurse for Children Safeguarding, was recently selected to be a nursing ambassador by NHS England for the Perceptions of Nursing initiative.
This national initiative is supporting the drive to recruit more nurses, giving particular focus on working with local schools to promote the profession to children and young people from a BAME background.
Pauline will be joining other chosen ambassadors from across the country to explore innovative ways to raise the profile of nursing and attract future talent.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the fantastic nurses, like Pauline, for their amazing contribution to our health services and making a difference to the lives of people in Haringey and around the world.
