North Central London CCGs (NCL)
To improve prevention and care for patients, as well as to place the NHS on a more sustainable footing, we have changed the way the health and social care services in north London work, bringing them together to provide the entire local population with access to the best possible health, care and wellbeing services. Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington CCGs have set up North Central London (NCL) and are working with main providers as well as the five local authorities. There are two committees which operate across North Central London:
North Central London Joint Commissioning Committee
In July 2017 the five CCGs in North Central London, established the NCL Joint Commissioning Committee (‘Committee’).
The Committee’s role is to jointly commission the following services as these are most effectively commissioned collaboratively across the five CCGs:
- All acute services including core contracts and other out of sector acute commissioning;
- All learning disability contracting associated with the Transforming Care programme;
- All integrated urgent care (including 111/ GP Out-of-Hours services)
- Any specialised services not commissioned by NHS England.
The Committee includes clinicians, lay members, senior NHS management staff, councillors, Healthwatch and Public Health.
Committee meetings are held in public every two months.

Primary Care Co-Commissioning Committee in Common
In April 2017, the five CCGs in North Central London assumed delegated authority from NHS England for commissioning primary care services.
Each CCG established its own Primary Care Commissioning Committee as a committee of its governing body to make decisions about commissioning local primary care services. To promote collaborative and integrated working, transparency and openness about conflicts of interest, the CCGs agreed to hold their Primary Care Commissioning Committee meetings together, at the same time. This meeting is known as the North Central London Primary Care Committee in Common.
